Gate.io, a renowned crypto exchange, has partnered with Visa, a digital payments firm. The aim of this partnership is to launch a crypto-linked card across more than 40 countries and territories. Th respective card will expand the use of digital assets for everyday payments. Gate has announced this collaboration via its official blog.

Crypto Card to Facilitate Everyday Spending
The card will allow eligible users to spend digital assets at online and physical merchants, where Visa is already accepted. When a payment will be made, the relevant cryptocurrency will be automatically converted into fiat currency. Users will be able to use assets held in their Gate accounts for shopping, dining, travel etc.
Users will also be able to apply for and manage the card through the Gate app. Gate said details regarding supported countries, eligibility, and supported assets will vary by market. The partnership is connecting the digital asset infrastructure of Gate.io with the global payments network of Visa. Visa’s network covers more than 175 million merchant locations across 200 countries. More than 160 stablecoin-linked Visa card programs are currently live globally.
Gate.io Expands Crypto Payment Infrastructure
The partnership is built on Gate’s existing crypto ecosystem. The exchange is already serving more than 61 million users. It currently supports trading of more than 5,300 crypto assets and 12,800 stock assets.
The exchange recently launched Gate Money too. It is a financial services application that brings digital assets, fiat currencies, stocks, ETFs, gold and payments together.
With the roll out of this card, Gate.io aims to give users greater flexibility in spending their digital assets. The launch reflects the broader growth of crypto-linked payment cards.
