Anchorage Digital, a global crypto banking platform for institutions, has partnered with Lido, the biggest liquid staking protocol working on Ethereum. In this partnership, Anchorage Digital is launching liquid staking for institutions through Lido. As Anchorage Digital mentioned in its official press release, the initiative permits the crypto banking entity to enable the interaction of institutional users with Lido. In this respect, they will not need to quit the custody environment of Anchorage.

Anchorage Digital Provides Seamless Institutional Liquid Staking Through Lido
The integration of Lido allows Anchorage Digital’s institutional consumers to leverage Lido to burn and mint $wstETH, the wrapped staked $ETH token of Lido. The development bridges institutions with staking yield on Ethereum in a transferable and liquid format. The launch denotes a crucial expansion of the on-chain infrastructure stack of Anchorage for compliant allocators. Thus, the platform is using Lido integration in the form of a connection between DeFi participation and compliance.
With this, institutions can directly access Lido dApps via the interface of Anchorage Digital for $ETH staking. In return, they get $wstETH tokens that accrue staking rewards alongside maintaining liquidity. Hence, $wstETH token circumvents capital lockup linked with the $ETH validation. Additionally, Anchorage Digital holds the token under its custody, security, and governance controls instead of via scattered 3rd-party setups.
While discussing the development, Anchorage Digital’s Co-Founder and CEO, expressed enthusiasm, saying former approaches compelled big allocators to make a choice between yield access and security. This often required separate validators as well as lengthy unbonding periods. Keeping this in view, the Lido integration lets Anchorage Digital eliminate such security and operational tradeoffs. So, it now provides $wstETH exposure within a regulated model.
Driving Institutional Staking Adoption via US-Regulated $wstETH and $stETH
According to Kean Gilbert, Lido Ecosystem’s Head of Institutional Relations, also mentioned that Anchorage Digital places Lido protocol, $stETH, and $wstETH within US-regulated setting. This fortifies the wider institutional engagement with Ethereum staking. Overall, Anchorage Digital pointed out that the integration aligns with its broader endeavors to provide compliant access to next-gen on-chain primitives, liquid staking, governance, settlement, restaking, and staking.
