Bank Leumi Partners Galaxy to Offer Digital Asset Trading in Israel

Bank Leumi, Israel’s largest bank, has partnered with Galaxy Digital to provide digital asset trading services to its customers. The initiative is expected to make Bank Leumi the first bank in Israel to offer direct digital asset trading services. Starting in early 2027, customers of Bank Leumi and its mobile digital banking platform PEPPER will be able to buy, hold, and sell selected digital assets. Initially, the bank plans to offer only 3 cryptocurrencies including Bitcoin (BTC), Ether (ETH), and Solana (SOL). The services will be available through the Leumi Trade capital markets application within a dedicated and secured section.

Under the partnership, Bank Leumi will use GalaxyOne Institutional, Galaxy Digital’s institutional platform designed for banks, asset managers, and other financial institutions. GalaxyOne Institutional will support the trading and related services required for Bank Leumi’s digital asset offering.

Bank Leumi has also entered into an agreement with Galaxy’s Custody Infrastructure platform, formerly known as GK8. GK8 will support the underlying digital asset operations and custody services. It will also provide a dedicated framework for safeguarding customers’ digital assets. Moreover, the integration will allow users to access digital assets through a familiar banking environment instead of relying on separate cryptocurrency platforms.

Partnership Brings Digital Assets Into Traditional Banking

The collaboration is of utmost importance because it’s a step in the integration of digital assets with Israel’s traditional financial system. By providing access through its existing banking infrastructure, Bank Leumi aims to combine digital asset exposure with regulated financial services and institutional-grade technology.

The partnership reflects the growing interest among traditional financial institutions in offering regulated access to digital assets. If launched as planned in early 2027, the initiative could mark a significant development for Israel’s digital asset market. It will bringing top crypto assets such as Bitcoin, Ether, and Solana directly into the country’s mainstream banking sector.
