$OUSD Targets Business and Cross-Border Payments

According to Open Standard, $OUSD is designed for internet-native financial applications. This includes banking, cross-border payments, and institutional trading. The project aims to provide businesses with payment infrastructure that is faster and cheaper compared with traditional fiat-based systems. Open Standard said businesses can use these integrations to convert OUSD to U.S. dollars and vice versa at a 1:1 ratio without conversion fees.

Integration options are available through Coinbase, Mastercard, Stripe, and BVNK, a Mastercard-owned company. These platforms provide APIs and tools covering areas such as settlement, payment orchestration, foreign exchange, and trading.

Open Standard said businesses can begin building with BVNK, Stripe, and the Visa Stablecoin Platform immediately. However, Coinbase support is scheduled to begin on October 1.

OUSD Stablecoin Launches Across Four Blockchains

OUSD by Open Standard is natively supported on Base, Ethereum, Solana, and Tempo. The stablecoin is also set to become available across centralized and decentralized trading venues. The primary supported exchanges include Coinbase, Kraken, and Uniswap.

Open Standard has published official contract addresses for OUSD across the supported networks. Additional exchange and ecosystem integrations are expected over time.

The stablecoin is issued by Bridge, a Stripe company. Its reserves are held at BlackRock, Lead Bank, and BNY.  The monthly reserve attestations for OUSD will be published frequently to provide information about the assets backing OUSD.

Open Standard describes itself as a partner-driven initiative involving more than 200 financial institutions and banks. According to the project, participating partners can receive rewards based on the supply and activity generated through their integrations.
