Oxford Industries Inc (NYSE:OXM) stock rose 11.86% (As on March 27, 11:26:46 AM UTC-4, Source: Google Finance) after the company in the fourth quarter of FY 25 has reported adjusted loss per share of -$0.09, missing analyst estimates of $0.05, while revenue of $374 million slightly exceeded the consensus of $372.33 million. The apparel company’s revenue declined 4% from $391 million in the year-ago quarter, pressured by an uneven consumer environment and higher tariff costs. The company added that fiscal 2026 started well, with mid-single-digit positive comparable sales at Tommy Bahama continuing into the first quarter during the important resort and early spring seasons. At Lilly Pulitzer, first quarter comps have run below the plan, which the company believe is largely attributable to colder weather along the eastern seaboard, including Florida and the Southeast, the brand’s most important markets. At Johnny Was, the comps remain negative. Quarter to date, business in the emerging brands group is quite strong, with comps well into double digits.
Moreover, the company’s fourth-quarter gross margin contracted to 58.0% on an adjusted basis from 60.8% a year earlier, primarily due to approximately $30 million in additional tariff costs for the full year and a shift in sales mix toward promotional events. Tommy Bahama sales fell 4% to $229.2 million, while Johnny Was sales dropped 20% to $37.9 million. Sales in the full price brick-and-mortar locations and e-commerce were down 3%, driven by a total DTC comp of -4%, partially offset in the retail channel by the addition of new store locations. Outlet sales were also down 2%. The food and beverage locations grew by 4%, driven primarily by the addition of 4 new food and beverage locations added during the year, partially offset by a slightly negative comp.
For fiscal 2026, the company issued adjusted EPS guidance of $2.10 to $2.70, with a midpoint of $2.40 that falls below the analyst consensus of $2.63. Revenue guidance of $1.48 billion to $1.53 billion, with a midpoint of $1.51 billion, aligns closely with the $1.50 billion consensus. The outlook assumes IEEPA tariff rates continue for the balance of the year, representing an approximate $20 million, or $1.00 per share impact. Operational and capital plans include completion of the new Lyons distribution center (no near‑term benefit and an expected ~$5 million ramp loss), reduced FY26 capex to ~ $65M, a China sourcing run‑rate cut to ~15%
For the first quarter of fiscal 2026, Oxford expects adjusted EPS of $1.20 to $1.30 compared to $1.82 in the prior-year period, with revenue projected at $385 million to $395 million versus $393 million last year. The company also increased its quarterly dividend by 1% to $0.70 per share.
