Stripe, a US-based payment processing platform, recently entered into partnership with a UK-headquartered software firm Sage. The two intend to combine their technologies to improve cash flow management and payment processing for small and medium businesses.
The benefits of the Sage-Stripe partnership
According to the partners, Sage will utilize Stripe’s financial infrastructure, which will allow it to offer a solution to its customers, with which they will be able to enhance their financial processes. SMEs will receive a whole range of features, such as checkouts and tap-to-pay contactless payments.
Sage’s statement also said that its customers can benefit from better payment processing, which will enable faster and more efficient transactions thanks to Stripe’s infrastructure.
Commenting on the team-up, Sage’s Chief Product Officer, Walid Abu-Hadba, said that the partnership signifies a shared vision between Sage and Stripe to transform how SMBs pay and get paid. “We are committed to harnessing the power of technology to drive innovation, enhance efficiency, and pave the way for growth,” he added.
Furthermore, the collaboration introduced a multitude of payment methods, such as digital wallets, bank transfers, cards, and more. This will enable businesses to offer different payment options to their customers.
The two companies described this as a crucial offering for improving cash flow, and at the same time, reducing outstanding invoices. Furthermore, Sage’s integration with the US-based Stripe will ensure a unified payment experience, meaning that businesses can collect payments online or in person using the tap-to-pay feature.
The most important feature
While there are plenty of benefits to come out of the Stripe-Sage partnership, the most crucial one is considered to be the auto-reconciling bank transfer feature. This will allow customers to use bank transfers to pay invoices, streamlining the reconciliation process, while reducing the administrative burdens that businesses typically face.
On top of that, the integration with Sage Network will allow customers to access a broader ecosystem of features and apps, like Sage Connect. This is a feature that automates accounts receivable (AR) and accounts payable (AP) processes.
Stripe officially brought its financing tools and payment options to the UK back in May of this year. The company said that the offering will allow users to access faster and cheaper payments using its new platform. The idea was to tackle the challenges of securing funds that local businesses tend to encounter.
The service is called Stripe Capital, and it allows businesses to access financing and investing in growth, like buying new equipment, improving customer service, and alike.
