Liquid rsETH to Pioneer Flexibility and Reward Potential in Staking

rsETH lets users restake liquid staked tokens. This means you may stake Coinbase’s wrapped staked ETH (cbETH), Lido’s stETH, and Rocket Pool’s rETH and restake using rsETH. A liquid token representing an individual’s interest in a restaking contract is created throughout the process. This new strategy optimizes Ethereum (ETH) staking benefits across many networks.

Restaking may boost user incentives, but it has a major drawback. Restaking ETH locks tokens on the restaking platform, reducing liquidity. Liquid restaked tokens can release asset liquidity to solve this problem. This means anyone can stake and collect their tokens as needed.

Stader Labs founder Dheeraj Borra told Blockworks about upcoming launch. According to the person, rsETH, the first liquid restaked currency on the Ethereum mainnet, will launch in the coming weeks. Using rsETH, users may restak cbETH, stETH, and rETH. This will increase their staking options and reward possibilities.

Borra explained that restaking leverages staked asset economic security. Rocket Pool’s rETH platform lets users use their ETH tokens as validators for Ethereum and other blockchains and apps. Staked assets bring value to the ecosystem with their numerous functions.

EigenLayer and Stader Labs Join Forces to Create Liquid Restaking Currency on Ethereum

EigenLayer, a leading restaker, and Stader Labs are creating rsETH on Ethereum. EigenLayer’s restaking method manages 173,800 ETH. They want to simplify restaking ecosystem participation using rsETH. User can stake their available ETH tokens to produce liquid rsETH tokens. Users can create decentralized exchange liquidity pools to easily enter and exit rsETH holdings.

Liquid restaking tokens might change the staking business. Currently, 45.4% of staked ETH (27.1 million) is liquid staked tokens. It aims to recreate liquid staking’s success by letting users adjust their risk-reward exposure, with a focus on restaking.

As of September 21, 800 people have seen rsETH contracts on the Ethereum testnet. The product is now inaccessible on the mainnet, but its launch is in the next weeks. Borra said passionate efforts are being undertaken to deploy the mainnet by October or early November. This is a major Ethereum staking feat.
