Forex Technical Major Pairs Analysis | December 16, 2025

USDX (USD Index)

U.S. dollar index continues to move lower, confirming that bearish momentum remains dominant. The index has failed to stage any meaningful rebound and stays well below the previously broken swing low at 98.97, reinforcing downside pressure. As long as the index remains below this level, the bear are expected to stay in control and further weakness remains the preferred scenario. On the upside, 98.97 will become the resistance level to watch when the index stage a bullish correction.

EUR/USD

FBS The Best Forex Broker

EUR/USD extends its bullish movement and is now trading near the 1.1820 resistance, signaling sustained buying interest. The bullish structure remains intact, supported by continued U.S. dollar index weakness. A clear break above 1.1820 would open the door to test September’s high and target the 1.2000 level. Any bearish pullback is expected to find support near 1.1710, which remains the key level to maintain bullish continuation.

Today’s critical levels to watch:

Support: 1.1710, 1.1580, 1.1500, 1.1360, 1.1300

Resistance: 1.1820

GBP/USD

GBP/USD shows strong bullish momentum and has tested the 1.3450 resistance, confirming aggressive buying pressure. The pair remains firmly bullish after the bounce from 1.3300 – 1.3330 area. A sustained break and close above 1.3450 would validate further upside continuation toward 1.3600. Traders will continue to hold long positions for now and place stop order below 1.3286 or below daily SMA 200.

Today’s critical levels to watch:

Support: 1.3330, 1.3300, 1.3250, 1.3125, 1.3050, 1.3000

Resistance: 1.3450

USD/JPY

USD/JPY is now under pressure and is testing the green box support area, indicating that bullish momentum is weakening. This zone will be critical for determining the next direction. A strong close below the green box area would shift the outlook toward a deeper bearish correction, while a strong bullish reaction from this area could allow the pair to resume the broader uptrend. Traders who want to speculate, could enter long positions with stop below the box area or below 152.84 for safer stop placement.

Today’s critical levels to watch:

Support: 153.00, 151.00

Resistance: 155.00, 158.89, 160.00

AUD/USD

AUD/USD remains mostly flat, trading sideways as the pair consolidates. Despite the lack of momentum, the broader structure still leans bullish as long as price holds above 0.6600. A break above 0.6700 would signal renewed upside momentum, while a drop below 0.6600 would expose deeper corrective levels. No new swing low formed yet, which mean there is no meaningful bearish correction and the bullish trend is strong.

Today’s critical levels to watch:

Support: 0.6600, 0.6560, 0.6500

Resistance: 0.6700, 0.6750, 0.6820
