Gilead Sciences Inc (NASDAQ:GILD) stock rose 5.65% (As on February 11, 11:25:56 AM UTC-4, Source: Google Finance) after the company logged higher profit in its latest quarter, boosted by sales growth for its HIV and liver disease treatments. The biopharmaceutical company posted a profit of $2.18 billion, or $1.74 a share, compared with $1.78 billion, or $1.42 a share, a year earlier. Product sales, which make up the majority of Gilead’s topline, rose 5% to $7.9 billion. The growth was driven by higher sales in the company’s liver disease and HIV segments, partially offset by lower sales of Veklury, a Covid-19 treatment. Non-GAAP product gross margin was 86.8% in the fourth quarter 2025 compared to 86.7% in the same period in 2024. As of December 31, 2025, Gilead had $10.6 billion of cash, cash equivalents and marketable debt securities compared to $10.0 billion as of December 31, 2024. During the fourth quarter 2025, Gilead generated $3.3 billion in operating cash flow.
GILD in the fourth quarter of FY25 has reported the adjusted earnings per share of $1.86, beating the analysts’ estimates for the adjusted earnings per share of $1.83, according to the Zacks Consensus Estimate. The company had reported the adjusted revenue growth of 5 percent to $7.93 billion in the fourth quarter of FY25, beating the analysts’ estimates for revenue by 4.63%. HIV product sales increased 6% to $5.8 billion in the fourth quarter 2025 compared to the same period in 2024. The Liver Disease portfolio sales increased 17% to $844 million in the fourth quarter 2025 compared to the same period in 2024, primarily driven by higher demand for Livdelzi (seladelpar). Veklury sales decreased 37% to $212 million in the fourth quarter 2025 compared to the same period in 2024. Cell Therapy product sales decreased 6% to $458 million in the fourth quarter 2025 compared to the same period in 2024.
Additionally, the company raised its quarterly dividend to $0.82 per share from $0.79, payable March 30 to stockholders of record March 13.
Looking ahead, the company may start to offer two cancer therapies and an additional HIV treatment option this year, setting Gilead up for continued growth. For the full year, the company guided for adjusted earnings per share of $8.45 to $8.85 and product revenue of $29.6 billion to $30 billion. Analysts expect adjusted per-share earnings of $8.79 and product revenue of $29.92 billion.
