The DSJ Exchange (DSJEX) / BG Wealth Sharing Ponzi project has recently undergone a massive crash, uncovering one of the biggest crypto frauds. The DSJ Exchange (DSJEX) / BG Wealth Sharing Ponzi involved $150 million in illegitimate funds, collapsing last week following suspicious activity for months. As per the data from ZachXBT, a renowned on-chain investigator, from April 27 to May 3, more than $92 million was laundered across diverse blockchains to make the trail obscure. Hence, the project routed $63 million to Cobo, a custody platform, underscoring the cross-chain laundering activity’s scale.

ZachXBT Assists Crypto Entities and Law Enforcement to Freeze DSJ Exchange $41.5M
The $150M DSJ Exchange (DSJEX) / BG Wealth Sharing Ponzi has ultimately crashed as one of the prominent crypto frauds. In this respect, between the 27th of April and the 3rd of May, the fraud campaign laundered a total of over $92M across multiple blockchains. Additionally, they routed $63M to the famous custody platform Cobo. After the fraud’s detection, ZachXBT assisted Tether, U.S. law enforcement, OKX, and the security team of Binance in taking immediate action against the fraud.
As a result, the collaborative efforts have frozen up to $41.5M of the defrauded amount up till now. The details about the transfer flows indicate that the team behind the Ponzi project shifted capital through a complex web of intermediary addresses, exchanges, and wallets. Specifically, the intermediary addresses were reportedly a key feature in the fragmentation of the transfers, increasing the traceability of the funds’ origins. Thus, a wide and complicated layering of transfers displays the Ponzi operators’ approach to exploiting the blockchain framework for disguising capital shifts.
Crypto Fraud Grows Despite Tightening Regulatory Oversight
According to ZachXBT, freezing $41.5M across different chains is a notable development, reaffirming the trust in law enforcement actions in the crypto market. However, it also signifies the challenges when it comes to retrieving capital following its dispersal via diverse services and networks. The blockchain transparency has played a critical role in detecting this activity. At the moment, despite the increasingly tightened oversight by exchanges and regulators, the DSJEX crash is a reminder that crypto technology is one of the top priorities for scammers to defraud unsuspecting users.
