CME Group, the leading financial derivatives marketplace, is launching futures contracts for Sui ($SUI) and Avalanche ($AVAX). This move permits CME Group to notably expand its crypto derivatives portfolio, moving beyond leading assets such as Solana ($SOL), Ether ($ETH), and Bitcoin ($BTC). As per CME Group’s official press release, the latest products take into account both micro-sized and standard futures contracts to facilitate retail and institutional traders looking for wider exposure to the rapidly expanding L1 blockchain network. Additionally, the development underscores the growing institutional interest in regulatory-compliant crypto trading tools and diversified strategies for risk management.

CME Group Broadens Crypto Derivatives with New $SUI and $AVAX Futures
The launch of Sui ($SUI) and Avalanche ($AVAX) futures contracts on CME Group underscores the platform’s efforts to fulfill the heightened demand among institutions for regulated cryptocurrency trading tools. The development comes after CME Group’s release of products linked to Stellar, Chainlink, and Cardano in February 2026, highlighting the platform’s aggressive growth into alternative crypto markets. The Sui and Avalanche futures are set to deliver more capital efficiency to traders while also enabling portfolio diversification beyond standard crypto assets like Ether ($ETH) and Bitcoin ($BTC).
Under the latest contract speculations, benchmark $AVAX futures underscore 5K $AVAX tokens and Micro AVAX futures account for 500 $AVAX. In the same vein, benchmark $SUI futures occupy 50K $SUI tokens, while Micro Sui contracts occupy 5K $SUI tokens. The crypto exchange stressed that the micro contracts’ availability is poised to attract wide-ranging investors by decreasing capital needs for participation. While $AVAX facilitates network security and staking, $SUI is leveraged for on-chain operations and gas fees.
