BlackRock, institutional crypto titan, and Ondo Finance, a RWA tokenization platform, have launched new product ‘Ondo Intelligent Portfolios’. It is a new set of blockchain-based investment products that package professionally designed ETF strategies into single transferable token. This is designed for eligible investors outside the United States.

Ondo Intelligent Portfolios will bring BlackRock-designed asset allocation strategies onchain through Ondo’s tokenization infrastructure. Rather than purchasing and managing individual assets, investors will gain exposure to a diversified portfolio through a single token.

Ondo Launches Three Tokenized Portfolio Strategies

The initial offering includes three strategies designed for different investment objectives. The strategies include BLKHlon, BLKDlGon, and BLKGRWon. BLKHIon represents Ondo High Income Powered by BlackRock, which focuses on global income. Secondly, BLKDIGon stands for Ondo Diversified Growth Powered by BlackRock, designed around a diversified growth allocation. BLKGRWon corresponds to Ondo High Growth Powered by BlackRock, targeting higher-growth exposure.

The strategies were developed by BlackRock specifically for Ondo. It will bring BlackRock’s portfolio construction expertise into tokenized investment products. Evey Intelligent Portfolios is represented by a single onchain token that provides economic exposure to a weighted basket of underlying tokenized assets.

The Intelligent Portfolio tokens are transferable and can be accessed through supported wallets and decentralized finance applications. This structure allows investors to use their portfolio exposure across onchain environments rather than keeping the assets solely within a traditional brokerage account.

Smart Contracts Handle Portfolio Rebalancing

Investors can mint or redeem the portfolio tokens rather than individually purchasing, weighting, and rebalancing positions. The portfolio allocation, rebalancing mechanisms, and fee structure are implemented through smart contracts. The feature allows the strategies to be managed programmatically.

Ondo uses its tokenized equities and ETF infrastructure, known as Ondo Stocks, to implement the strategies. These tokenized products are backed by corresponding underlying securities. The new product is available only to eligible investors in supported jurisdictions outside the United States.
