Tech stock to watch: JD.Com Inc (ADR)(NASDAQ: JD)

JD.Com Inc(ADR)(NASDAQ: JD) stock is under pressure and lost 3.2% on August 14th, 2017 (as of 12:21PM EDT; Source: Google finance). Their Net loss rose to RMB287.0 million (US$42.3 million) in the second quarter of 2017 from net income of RMB127.6 million in the prior corresponding period. Diluted net loss reached RMB0.20 (US$0.03) in the second quarter of 2017 from diluted net income of RMB0.09 in the prior corresponding period.

But, net revenue rose 43.6% yoy to RMB93.2 billion (US$213.7 billion) in the second quarter of 2017. Operating cash flow from continuing operations rose to RMB26.6 billion (US$3.9 billion) in the twelve months ended June 30, 2017 as compared to RMB4.1 billion in the prior corresponding period. GMV surged 46% to RMB234.8 billion (US$34.6 billion) in the second quarter of 2017 as compared to RMB160.4 billion in the second quarter of 2016. Annual active customer accounts enhanced 37% yoy to 258.3 million in the twelve months ended June 30, 2017 as compared to 188.1 million in the prior corresponding period.

Fulfilled orders rose 41% yoy to 591.2 million in the second quarter of 2017 while Fulfilled orders via mobile represented over 80% of total orders fulfilled during the second quarter of 2017. JD.com had over 130,000 merchants on its online marketplace, and a total of 125,835 full-time employees, excluding JD Finance, as of June 30, 2017.

The group along with Baidu launched a strategic partnership to leverage both of the firms powerful data resources, user bases and AI algorithm technology to offer consumers and advertisers a more tailored and rewarding e-commerce experience. They also expanded their product offerings which comprise Zenith, Kartell, Casio, MAMMUT, Swarovski, Essilor, Juicy Couture and Armani. Walmart and the group partnership is enabling them to integrate their platforms and customer resources in China.

For the third quarter of 2017, Net revenues would be in the range of RMB81.8 billion and RMB84.2 billion, which is a rise in the range of 36% and 40% against prior corresponding period without impact from JD Finance for both 2017 and 2016 periods.
