Samsung Galaxy S9
This is the new phone that is leading the Galaxy S series. Its features have improved more than those of the S8. Packed with a RAM of 4GB and internal storage of 64 GB that is expandable up to 400GB, it’s undoubtedly a powerful phone to own.
The Phone comes with a new high-power camera on the back that shows the true innovation of Samsung in the dual-aperture shutter. The phone has a robust frame and a good processing power to handle all types of applications without slugging. Its screen is notably brighter than its predecessor, and it also has dual speakers that make watching your favorite movies without your headphones, a seamless experience.
The phone also comes with a new feature that sets it apart from all the other smartphones in the market apart from the iPhone X. Samsung Galaxy S8 had a major flow of having a slow and sometimes unresponsive face unlock feature. With the new S9, the face recognition software and retina scan are working very well and quite fast, making it easy to unlock your phone with your face. This was a major setback in the previous model.
AR Emoji
The new Samsung Galaxy has an all-new feature, called the AR Emoji. To be honest, its a rival to Apple’s Animoji which is a feature in the iPhone x that generated a lot of buzz. Bixby
Bixby was rather disappointing last year and could not start nor control apps however we wanted, but with the new S9, Bixby is very capable of doing more than its predecessor. It can handle many commands and respond immediately or within a short time.
Biometrics
Last year, the Galaxy S8 had an inferior biometric system. Samsung had to do something about it and they did. The new phone has an intelligent scan that works with the iris scanner software and facial recognition to seamlessly unlock your S9 with much ease. To make it better, they did not remove the fingerprint scanner. You can unlock your phone however you want. This is an added advantage over the iPhone X.
Speakers
The new S9 also comes with new speakers that are AKG tuned for loud sound. There are two speakers; one is set in the bottom while the other is set on top. The speakers have been fine-tuned to work with Dolby Atmos Sound.
The Camera.
The camera is the one feature Samsung spend the most of it focus on. The single sensor 12 MP is one of the key features that will make you buy the phone. The all-new Galaxy S9 camera has shifting capabilities between f/2.4 and f/1.5 for the best optics for both day and night. If there is less light, it will use the f/1.5 function to let more light in, and if there is more light, it will use the f/2.4 function to reduce light, for clear pictures. This enables you to take very clear images at any time of the day. Its autofocus feature has excellent color retention too.
Verdict
The S9 is a good phone, but its body still resembles that of the S8 which is very similar in design. The phone has a good biometric system and a good low-light performance and it’s currently among the most powerful android phones in the market. However, its camera lacks vibrancy when snapping and its design is borrowed from the S8.
The Samsung Galaxy S9 plus Phone
The new S9 plus has been released, and it’s looking better than ever. Built to succeed the S8 plus, its design has surely improved.
The phone has been made for the people who love big phones. It has a 6.2-inch Quad HD+ Super AMOLED curved screen that covers 90% of the phone. Samsung has made some changes to its S9 plus. The Fingerprint sensor is located at the center of the phone making it easy to access. The Galaxy S9 plus still retains the features of the Galaxy S9; stereo speakers, face unlock, AR Emoji and vertically placed dual cameras of 12MP. What differentiates it is the size of the phone and a RAM of 6GB with internal storage of 64GB which is expandable up to 400GB.
Verdict
The S9 plus is big and has the best features of its size. At least you won’t find any other phone of its size with such amazing features. The phone has an impressive low-light camera with a better-placed fingerprint sensor and loud stereo speakers. However, the price for 0.4 extra inch screen is a bit high, and it’s not so different from the S8 plus.
