Analog Devices Inc (NASDAQ:ADI) stock fell 0.30% (As on February 19, 11:22:31 AM UTC-4, Source: Google Finance) after the company reported fiscal first quarter earnings that exceeded analyst expectations, with revenue growth across all end markets and a robust outlook. During the first quarter, bookings growth continued, driven by broad strength in Industrial and record orders for the Data Center segment. The company’s adjusted gross margin improved to 71.2% from 68.8% in the same quarter last year, while adjusted operating margin expanded to 45.5% from 40.5%. The company also reported robust cash generation, with trailing 12-month operating cash flow of $5.1 billion, representing 43% of revenue, and free cash flow of $4.6 billion, or 39% of revenue. Surging investment in data center infrastructure for generative AI workloads is helping offset a challenging macroeconomic and geopolitical backdrop, supporting demand for Analog Devices’ semiconductors as hyperscalers expand capacity.
Moreover, Industrial revenue, accounting for 47% of Q1 totals, increased 38% year-over-year to $1.49 billion, up from 34% in Q4 and 23% in Q3. Automotive revenue, representing 25% of total revenue, grew 8% to $794.4 million, down from 19% growth in Q4. Communications revenue surged 63% year-over-year to $477 million, with data center revenue expected to grow approximately 50% in FY25. Wireless revenue saw double-digit growth for the third consecutive quarter. Consumer revenue climbed 27% year-over-year to $399.8 million, a significant increase from 7% growth in Q4.
ADI in the first quarter of FY26 has reported the adjusted earnings per share of $2.46, beating the analysts’ estimates for the adjusted earnings per share of $2.31. The company had reported the adjusted revenue growth of 30 percent to $3.16 billion in the first quarter of FY26, beating the analysts’ estimates for revenue of $3.11 billion. The Industrial and Communications segments led the growth during the quarter.
Additionally, Analog Devices has announced an 11% increase in its quarterly dividend to $1.10 per share. During the quarter, the company returned $1 billion to shareholders through dividends and share repurchases
For the second quarter, Analog Devices provided guidance well above Wall Street expectations, projecting revenue between $3.4 billion and $3.6 billion, with the $3.5 billion midpoint significantly higher than the analyst consensus of $3.23 billion, according to LSEG data. The company expects adjusted EPS of $2.73 to $3.03, also comfortably above the $2.46 consensus estimate and adjusted operating margin of approximately 47.5%, +/-100 bps.
