As per the data from PeckShield, a popular blockchain security platform, Balancer’s latest crypto exploit has seen drainage in $osETH, $wstETH, and $WETH crypto tokens. Balancer Incurs $70.8M Loss in Exploit Targeting $osETH, $wstETH
The latest market statistics point out that the hacker has targeted Balancer’s v2 crypto pools, draining $70.8M. The main crypto assets that were aimed at included $stETH, $wstETH, and $WETH. Particularly, in the case of $osETH, 6,851.12 tokens were drained, accounting for up to $27M. In addition to this, 6,587.44 $WETH tokens accounted for a $27M in exploit. Subsequently, the hacker also drained 4,259.84 $wstETH, equaling $19.3M.
The wallet associated with the hack or a related platform indicates a net worth of almost 18,998.709976. This amount is equivalent to nearly $70,582,538.68. As a result of this exploit, the hacker has topped up the $osETH, $wstETH, and $WETH holdings in the wallet. Now, the respective wallet reportedly constraints 38.07% $osETH, 27.30% $wstETH, and 34.63% $WETH. However, irrespective of these stunning transactions, the exploiter’s wallet shows a 4.90% dip in its balance over the past 24 hours, pointing toward potential outflows.
