Bit Digital, a well-known Bitcoin ($BTC) mining entity, has announced its plans to collect $500M via an at-the-market equity offering. As per Bit Digital, the platform has filed for a raise of $500M to drive its ecosystem expansion beyond the mining of Bitcoin ($BTC) by offering high-performance cloud services and computing. This development takes place amid the tightening $BTC mining economics.

Bit Digital Submits Filing for ATM Raise of $500M to Shift Beyond $BTC Mining
As mentioned in Bit Digital’s funding proposal, this endeavor will significantly increase the market capitalization of the platform. This highlights the likely dilution posed to stakeholders in the case of the full collection of this amount. In line with a regulatory filing submitted on May 1, the firm had 203.8M shares outstanding. As a part of the ATM program, the platform will provide shares of the common stock thereof from time to time via H.C. Wainwright & Co. It will play the role of a sales agent for BitDigital. In this respect, the investment banking platform is poised to get a commission of nearly 3% over the shares sold during this event.
Platform Plans to Provide Efficient Cloud and Computing Services
Subsequently, the proceeds coming from Bit Digital’s offering are anticipated to be utilized for general corporate-related purposes. They take into account the buyout of latest equipment to fuel the platform’s effective cloud and computing services activities. Additionally, it will also focus on funding likely strategic acquisitions and working capital. The platform asserted that the issuance under the proposed ATM project would be based on the internal capital requirements and market conditions. Hence, it would deliver flexibility in the time and manner of share selling.
Mining Profitability Experiences Notable Decline
Bit Digital’s latest proposal takes place at a time when $BTC miners are experiencing massive pressure from bottom hashprice levels. Currently, these levels stand below up to $50 per petahash per second (PH/s). As revealed by Bit Digital, the fleet hashcost thereof alone sit at $44/PH/s other than wider corporate costs. This left just a small margin amid the declining mining profitability.
