The 2 Bitcoin ($BTC) whales have capitulated a total amount of 1,905 $BTC, accounting for $119.6M within a single day. One of the whales offloaded up to 1,105 $BTC, denoting $69.43M, resulting in a huge $26.9M loss. The whale capitulated this amount after holding it for 7 months. Additionally, the whale accumulated that position at $87,181 as the average entry price through OKX and Binance.

Apart from that, the other whale offloaded nearly 800 $BTC, equaling $50.24M. As a result, the whale incurred a loss of almost $35.3M. The accumulation of that position took place 7 months ago at $106,866 as the average price. Together, both of these capitulations account for a wider pattern of $BTC capitulation across the market.

The timing of these offloading events is crucial, as both of them have occurred after a 7-month accumulation. Market onlookers consider this wide-scale $BTC capitulation as a sign of potential psychological exhaustion following enduring extended drawdowns. Additionally, the cumulative realized losses of $62.2M signify the extreme sell-off, with $BTC plunging nearly 28% from the average entry point of one whale and more than 35% from the other.

Whale Capitulation Triggers Speculation Over Local Bottom and Deeper Downside Risk

Such highly synchronized $BTC capitulation often paves the way for local bottoms amid exhausting selling pressure. On the other hand, it could also signal additional downside in the case of extended whale capitulation. Overall, whether this leads to selling exhaustion or the commencement of deeper market downside is still to be seen in the near-term trajectory of Bitcoin ($BTC).
