The launch of BitGo Global Markets is built on BitGo Prime Services operating since 2020. It has brought approximately 30 capital markets professionals to BitGo. This has strengthened its expertise in derivatives, financing, collateral management, and structured products.

BitGo Expands Institutional Trading and Financing
BitGo Global Markets will provide institutional clients with access to several financial services through a single platform. Its offerings include electronic trading and over-the-counter (OTC) execution. It will connect institutional clients with exchanges, market makers, and other counterparties through BitGo’s Global Liquidity Layer.
The division will also offer financing backed by eligible digital assets held in qualified custody. It will allow institutions to access liquidity without selling their holdings.
Additional services include options, swaps, structured products, collateral management, research, and asset management strategies.
Pete Janney to Lead Global Markets
Pete Janney has been appointed head of Global Markets. He joined BitGo through its acquisition of NYDIG’s institutional trading business. He brings experience in trading and capital markets to the expanded division.
BitGo CEO and co-founder Mike Belshe said the new division brings the company’s custody, trading, financing, liquidity, and settlement capabilities. The launch expands BitGo’s services beyond digital asset custody and traditional trading. By combining these capabilities with financing and risk management products, the exchange aims to serve institutions with more complex investment and trading needs.
The launch is built on BitGo’s existing infrastructure and the expertise gained through the NYDIG acquisition. It will position the company to offer a broader range of institutional digital asset services under one business.
