Leading provider of global market infrastructure CBOE Global Markets, Inc. has reported an increase in its monthly trading volume for June 2021.
According to the report, the statistics contain the monthly results across its global business lines. It also provided for the net revenue/revenue per contract metrics for the second quarter of the year.
The operator had a 12.8% gain in Options average daily volume (ADV) for June 2021. The report also showed that the company’s ADV in June was 9% higher than the value the previous month. For the Futures Volume, the total ADV reduced slightly by 0.9% when compared to June last year.
The latest result from the company is coming after it had an increase in its FX volumes last month. The FX ADV climbed to $33 billion, which is 2,6 percent higher than the value the previous month.
Future growth expectations
CBOE is expecting RPC for total options for Q2 2021to be about 4% lower than the previous level for the two months ended May 31.
This will be reflected in the higher percentage of the usually lower RPC from multi-listed options.
Also, the provider is expecting RPC for futures in Q2 to be in tune with the two-month average of April and May, based on market indices.
It also expects the U.S. Equities on-exchange volume for Q2 to be about 4% less than the two-month average.
The mix shift shows that a higher percentage of the shares are priced above the dollar compared to those priced below a dollar. This led to an increased volume-based rebate in June compared to the level the previous month.
When it comes to European Equities, CBOE reported a slight decline of 1.7% in the average daily notional value (ADNV) compared to its level last year. Similarly, US Equities’ total ADV fell by 3.8% when compared to its figure in May.
Cboe’s stock records a slight decline
Meanwhile, despite the good news for the month, the stock price of CBOE still suffered a slight dip, falling by 0.53% to $117.38 on Tuesday. However, the company wasn’t the only loser, as the market largely experienced a slight downturn.
But the company’s stock is still high, as it’s only $4.89 shy of the 52-week high it achieved on June 28th.
But the stock still outperformed some of its competitors in the market, including Intercontinental Exchange (-0.72%), Nasdaq Inc. (-0.85), and CME Group Inc. (-2.57%).
