Last week, the iPhone assembler reported that it had recorded a 21% year-over-year decline in revenues for March. Escalating tensions in Taiwan
Foxconn is expanding to Southern Taiwan when tensions between China and Taiwan have skyrocketed. The Chinese navy has conducted 120 flight sorties from an aircraft carrier in the last three days. These drills have also been seen in the south of Japan.
Beijing started conducting drills around Taiwan to “punish” Taiwan President Tsai Ing-wen, who met House Speaker Kevin McCarthy in the US last week. The People’s Liberation Army has since said the military drills have been completed. The drills have enabled China to train its armed forces. Most of the drills happened close to Japan and US forces.
The Taiwan defense ministry detected 59 Chinese military aircraft and 11 Chinese warships operational around the island on Monday morning. It said 39 military aircraft flew across the unofficial Taiwan Strait or entered the Taiwan air defense identification zone.
