SentinelOne Inc (NYSE:S) Posts Modest Earnings

SentinelOne Inc (NYSE:S) stock fell 0.44% (As on August 28, 11:49:52 AM UTC-4, Source: Google Finance) after the company reported modest earnings and revenue beats in its fiscal 2025 second quarter and forecast a better-than-expected outlook for the full year, anticipating new clients to turn to its cybersecurity products for safeguarding their digital operations amid growing online threats. This is first-ever quarter of positive net income and earnings per share. SentinelOne is gaining market share at the expense of CrowdStrike following the July 19 outage that paralyzed Microsoft Windows operating system. The company delivered annual recurring revenue of $100,000 or more growing 24% year-over-year, to 1,233 as of the end of July. Overall annual recurring revenue also grew, up 32%, to $806 million, as of the end of the quarter. SentinelOne reported an operating cash flow margin of 1%. Though not huge by any stretch, it contrasts with a negative 8% margin in the same quarter of last year. SentinelOne ended the quarter with $1.1 billion in cash, cash equivalents and investments on hand. Free cash flow margin was (3)%, 7 percentage points higher compared to (10)%.

Meanwhile, the company is seeing a distinct rise in customer interest and appreciation for the advantages of the patented AI-powered Singularity Platform to help build higher quality and more durable cyber defense. Further, the company also announced a Risk Assurance Initiative, in partnership with a network of cyber insurers, that helps small and medium enterprises improve security at preferred rates while extending its reach and scale.

S in the second quarter of FY 24 has reported the adjusted earnings per share of 1 cent, beating the analysts’ estimates for the adjusted earnings per share of break even. The company had reported the adjusted revenue growth of 33 percent to $198.9 million in the second quarter of FY 24, beating the analysts’ estimates for revenue of $197.5 million. The company has posted Non-GAAP gross margin of 80%, compared to 77% and Non-GAAP operating margin was (3)%, compared to (22)%. For its fiscal third quarter, SentinelOne expects to see revenue of $209.5 million, the exact figure expected by analysts. SentinelOne raised its annual revenue forecast to $815 million, from between $808 million and $815 million. Analysts on average were expecting $813 million, according to LSEG data.
