TP ICAP has announced the appointment of Mark Govoni as the Chief Executive Officer of its agency Execution division. Govoni is replacing John Ruskin, who recently stepped down from the role after leading the integration of Liquidnet into the TP ICAP Group.
Govoni Comes With Years Of Experience In The Industry
Govoni has several years of experience in the financial services industry. Before joining TP ICAP, he also worked with Instinct for about 10 years. Govoni was also the Managing Director of Nomura Securities International. In his new role, he will try to speed up the expansion of TP ICAP’s Agency Execution Division.
While commenting on his appointment, Mark Govoni stated that the Agency Execution platform has high caliber people, top-tier technology, trusted client relationships, and global reach. These features will place the platform in a position to shape the future of electronics markets. He added that he is excited to join the division to build on his achievements with John and further enhance the company’s portfolio and offerings.
His predecessor Ruskin is not leaving the group immediately. He will stay in the company until the end of the year to facilitate the transition.
Chief Executive Officer of TP ICAP Group, Nicolas Breteau, commented on the latest development. “Mark is a proven U.S. equity specialist,” he stated.
Govoni To Drive Performance In The U.S and Other Regions
Breteau also noted that Mark has a wide client network and is heavily connected to the top talents in the industry. Over the years, he has shown a high drive and ambition to develop industry-leading businesses, which is evident in every organization he has worked with. Breteau says TP ICAP will tap into the energy and drive that Mark has to grow the Agency Execution Division of the business.
The company will also benefit from his experience to drive the performance of its by-side-focused franchise in the U.S and other regions. Mark will continue where Ruskin stopped to build on the success the predecessor has recorded so far in the division.
Breteau also noted that the Agency Execution Division of TP ICAP has played a massive role in its overall profitability and growth. Last year, the division provided 10% of the Group’s revenues, and the recent market indices suggest that the volume may increase this year.
