The strategy aims to connect digital asset investments with traditional property markets. SAC’s approach reflects growing institutional interest in Bitcoin treasury strategies. SAC has appointed Coinbase Asset Management as the exclusive manager of its Bitcoin holdings. The unit is led by president Anthony Bassili, a former BlackRock executive.

SAC Targets Bitcoin and Real Estate Investments

Standard Asset Company plans to build a long-term $BTC reserve while investing in UAE hospitality properties and branded residences. The real estate portfolio is intended to generate operating income while Bitcoin will serve as a professionally managed reserve with a yield component.

Under its proposed model, proceeds would support reserve growth and selected property acquisitions. The company describes this approach as a generate-retain-redeploy strategy. The strategy will link investment returns with further capital deployment.

However, SAC has not yet disclosed its current Bitcoin holdings. It is also unclear at the moment that how much allocation of the planned $1.5 billion will go to Bitcoin and real estate each. The announced figure represents its intended strategy rather than a confirmed amount already invested.

UAE Royal Family Member Backs Initiative

Sheikh Mohammed Bin Maktoum Bin Juma Al Maktoum, a member of Dubai’s royal family, is an adviser and shareholder in SAC. He said the initiative aims to connect the digital and traditional economies. The firm says its Bitcoin acquisitions will take place in phases based on valuation and liquidity conditions.

SAC was founded by Sakhib Waseem, Adam Ali and Mason Borda. According to the company, its founders have advised on more than $7 billion in transactions and facilitated over $1 billion in digital asset offerings.

Other advisers and shareholders include former White House Chief of Staff Mick Mulvaney and UK House of Lords member Lord Iain McNicol.
