Investors are looking for a number of important economic data from the US today, perhaps the most important data on Durable Goods Orders and the performance of key sectors of the US economy during February.
Durable goods orders are one of the most important indicators of measuring the level of investment spending in the country. Investment spending accounts for more than 16% of the value of GDP. Data is delayed by more than one month due to the closure of the US government.
Durable Goods orders are expected to rise 1.6% in December from a 0.7% rise in November, excluding expected transportation items rising 0.3% from a 0.4% drop.
The preliminary reading of the Manufacturing PMI is expected to be 54.9 points in February from 54.9 points in January. The Services sector PMI is expected to rise 54.4 points and 54.2 points last month.
