The announcement to increase protection measures for French crypto entrepreneurs comes following several kidnappings. These events included a couple of successful kidnappings while 1 attempted abduction. The latest incident took place on Tuesday, when the grandson and daughter of Pierre Noizat (the French cryptocurrency exchange Paymium’s CEO) went through an attempt to kidnamp them. Even though the attack seemed to be foiled, it shocked the growing crypto landscape of France.
Before this, Ledger’s co-founder, David Balland, was also kidnapped earlier in 2025. In addition to this, only few weeks ago, the father of well-known crypto entrepreneur was also abducted. These incidents are believed to be interlinked, indicating the digital wealth’s real-world risks and increasing vulnerability of those connected to it. Keeping this in view, Bruno Retailleau, the Interior Minister of France, stressed the authorities’ commitment to shielding industry personnel against such abduction activities.

In this respect, the French government intends to enable emergency access to police services on priority basis. Apart from that, the crypto personnel will also be offered advisory visits and security inspections conducted by law enforcement.
