GBP/CAD Approaching Rising Channel Support, Bounce Next?

GBPCAD has been trading inside an ascending channel on its longer-term time frame, and the pair is currently pulling back to test support areas that could attract fresh buying interest. Price is trading around 1.8593, approaching key levels where bullish momentum might resume.

The Fibonacci retracement tool shows where more buyers could be waiting to defend the uptrend. The 38.2% Fib is located at 1.8648 while the 50% level lines up at 1.8597, which is close to the current price action.

A larger correction could still reach the 61.8% Fib at 1.8545, which coincides with the ascending channel bottom and could be the line in the sand for a bullish pullback.

This rising channel support has held consistently since late 2025, confirming that buyers remain in control of the broader trend. A bounce from this area would suggest that the uptrend is still intact and could pave the way for another test of the channel top near 1.8800 or higher.

The 100 SMA (blue line) is above the 200 SMA (red line) to confirm that the path of least resistance is to the upside or that the climb is more likely to gain traction from here. Both moving averages are sloping upward and could provide additional dynamic support during the pullback phase.

However, stochastic is heading south from elevated levels, reflecting that sellers currently have the upper hand. The oscillator has room to slide before reaching the oversold region, which means the correction could persist until buyer exhaustion sets in.

RSI is also on the move down but hasn’t reached oversold territory yet, suggesting bearish pressure could linger in the near-term. Still, if any of the Fibonacci levels or the channel bottom hold as a floor, GBPCAD could resume its rally to the swing high or beyond, potentially targeting fresh multi-month peaks.
