Bitcoin Pulls Back after Double-Top Rejection, Trades about $83,994

Bitcoin, the premier cryptocurrency, is facing selling pressure near the $87,000–$88,000 resistance zone. The latest price action has formed a potential double-top pattern on the 4-hour chart. BTC is trading around $83,800-84,800 range after staging a strong recovery from its August lows.

Bitcoin Forms Double-Top Near $88K

BTC/USDT technical analysis shows that Bitcoin reached the first local peak around $87,300 on 22nd September. After retracing to $85,300, it tried another time and got rejected again in the same area forming a perfect double top. The repeated rejection suggests that sellers are active around the $87,000–$88,000 region. The selling pressure or profit taking is making a decisive breakout important for the next directional move.

Bitcoin Double Top

The double-top structure emerged after Bitcoin climbed sharply from the $78,000 area. The second peak has encountered selling pressure, preventing BTC from immediately extending its jump.

A confirmed breakout above the $87,000–$88,000 zone will invalidate the immediate resistance pattern and provide room for further upside. Conversely, another rejection could increase the possibility of a short-term correction toward lower support levels.

Ichimoku Cloud Provides Key Bitcoin Support

The Ichimoku cloud is currently providing an important support area beneath Bitcoin’s current price. BTC remains above the cloud, while its recent bullish configuration reflects a strong short-term structure.

Holding above the cloud will help Bitcoin to maintain the current upward trend. A move below the support zone, however, will likely weaken the recent momentum.

Bitcoin has recorded a quick 50% surge after hitting the bottom area of this cycle below $58,000 on the 1st of July 2026. After its first upward push, $BTC established a notable short-term support around $71,000 before beginning the 2nd upward move that eventually pushed the price above $86,000.

The $78,000 area has also emerged as an important technical level. This area is providing a base for the latest recovery that pushed BTC toward the current double-top formation.

$87K Resistance and $78K Support Remain in Focus

As of now, the $87,000–$88,000 region represents the main resistance area. Double top rejection could push it back into the lower support upto $79,000. The Ichimoku cloud and the broader $78,000–$80,000 region is providing near-term support.
