Ripple, a blockchain infrastructure company, has launched real-world asset (RWA) perpetual swaps through its prime brokerage arm, Ripple Prime. With this launch, Ripple Prime is allowing institutional clients to trade contracts linked to more than 100 traditional financial markets. The offering will support 24/7 trading and cross-margining across asset classes to improve capital efficiency and risk management for institutional traders. Earlier this month, Ripple Prime expanded its brokrage services to Brevan Howard.

Ripple Prime Expands Access to Traditional Asset Perpetuals
In its official announcement on X, Ripple said that the new offering is designed to give institutions continuous access to traditional asset markets. The contracts are available through Trade.xyz on the Hyperliquid platform. They provide exposure to a range of reference markets, including equities, indices, exchange-traded funds (ETFs), and commodities.
The new offering supports several trading strategies. These strategies include directional positions based on market movements and basis trading. Cross-margining also allows eligible positions across different asset classes to share collateral reducing the amount of capital required to maintain positions.
RWA Perpetual Contracts See Growing Market Activity
The launch comes as perpetual contracts linked to traditional assets gain traction across crypto-native trading platforms. According to the figures cited in the report, open interest in RWA perpetual contracts across major platforms has increased from near zero to approximately $9 billion.
Rising open interest points to growing activity in these markets, although it does not necessarily indicate equivalent growth in spot ownership of the underlying assets.
Ripple Prime has expanded its derivatives-related services recently. It includes Delta One total return swaps and relationships with major hedge funds. The addition of RWA perpetual contracts extends its reach into markets that connect TradFi instruments with blockchain infrastructure.
By combining access to traditional asset markets with cross-margining and 24/7 trading, Ripple Prime is seeking a goal. It is serving institutions who were looking for alternatives to conventional market infrastructure.
