The quarterly profit remained unchanged from the previous quarter. This brings Tether’s cumulative net operating profit for the first nine months of 2026 to $4.5 billion.

Tether Excess Reserves Increase by $3.8 Billion
According to the attestation report, Tether holds $191.5 billion in total assets against $183.5 billion in total liabilities. The difference left the company with around $7.95 billion in excess reserves.
The increase of roughly $3.8 billion strengthened the financial buffer available to support the stablecoin’s operations. Excess reserves represent assets held beyond the liabilities associated with issued tokens. USDT issuance stood at approximately $184 billion during the reporting period.
US Treasury Holdings Remain a Major Reserve Component
Tether’s direct and indirect holdings of US Treasury bills reached $132.4 billion. The company has emphasized its concentration in liquid, short-duration instruments to support redemptions and manage liquidity requirements during periods of market uncertainty.
BDO prepared the attestation under the International Standard on Assurance Engagements ISAE 3000 Revised (ISAE 3000R). The results come as USDT continues to play a significant role in the global stablecoin market. Tether growth points to rapid adoption in emerging markets.
The latest figures indicate a larger excess-reserve buffer and continued profitability. Its reserve composition, liquidity and liabilities remain important factors in assessing its ability to support USDT redemptions. Meanwhile, Tether freezes millions in $USDT to support Binance in controlling hack. This hack has so far caused a loss of $6,3 billion.
