U.S stock market Rises Slightly as Falling Yields and Chip Rally Lift Wall Street
Major U.S. stock benchmarks logged modest gains as falling Treasury yields and a rebound in semiconductor shares provided support across broader markets. Buying interest remained steady, lifting tech-heavy indexes while defensive and blue-chip names held firmly. Consequently, the Dow Jones Industrial Average (DJIA) gained 124.28 points (+0.23%) to close at 53,541.44. Meanwhile, the S&P 500 rose 14.53 points (+0.19%) to reach 7,667.39, and the Nasdaq Composite added 108.32 points (+0.42%) to trade at 26,088.51.
Dow Jones Industrial Average
Dow Jones Industrial Average (DJIA) opened higher but remained mostly stable throughout the session, experiencing slight bearish pressure following an initial upward push. If the index can maintain its higher trajectory, it could target a new higher swing high toward upper Fibonacci projection zones. On the downside, the primary ascending trendline continues to serve as the key support level to monitor for preserving the dominant uptrend.
Halliburton Company (HAL)
Shares of Halliburton Company (HAL) recently returned above the 200 EMA ($33.83) and are currently retracing back toward it. If share prices can maintain position around this key moving average and bounce upward strongly, a bullish continuation remains on the table toward the 100 EMA ($35.13) and upper resistance near $38.50. However, a breakdown below the 200 EMA would risk pushing the stock down toward lower trendline support.
