Gitlab Inc (NASDAQ:GTLB) narrows its losses

Gitlab Inc (NASDAQ:GTLB) stock fell 10.04% (As on Dec 7, 11:30:52 AM UTC-4, Source: Google Finance) after the company narrows its losses and beats the market’s estimates. The customers with more than $5,000 of ARR increased to 4,057, up 66% from Q3 of fiscal 2021. The customers with more than $100,000 of ARR increased to 427, up 73% from Q3 of fiscal 2021. The Dollar-Based Net Retention Rate, which the company reports on a threshold basis, remained above 130%. The company’s new and expansion customers included Suzuki Motor Corporation, Smartsheet, and Lockheed Martin. The company has released GitLab versions 14.2, 14.3 and 14.4, marking 121 consecutive months of innovation. Meanwhile, the company has appointed Sunny Bedi, chief information and chief data officer of Snowflake, to GitLab’s Board of Directors. As per the company the market for DevOps platforms is underpenetrated, and as a pioneer of The DevOps Platform, GitLab is well positioned to make the most of the substantial market opportunity before them. For the third-quarter, the company lost $41.2 million (62 cents per share) compared to $28.6 million, or 55.7 cents a share, in a similar time last year. On the other hand, GTLB has recently raised fund through a strong IPO. The customers use GitLab for their immediate needs and then expand usage over time. There is continued growth in the target market is evident in the fourth quarter and fiscal year 2023.

GTLB in the third quarter of FY 21 has reported the adjusted loss per share of 34 cents, beating the analysts’ estimates for the adjusted loss per share of 48 cents. The company had reported the adjusted revenue growth of 58 percent to $66.8 million in the third quarter of FY 21, beating the analysts’ estimates for revenue of $59.2 million.

The company forecasts fiscal Q4 non-GAAP loss to be in the range of $0.26 per share to $0.25 per share and revenue of $69.5 million to $70.5 million. The mean consensus of analysts is for a loss of $0.27 per share on revenue of $63.9 million.

For fiscal 2022, the company expects a non-GAAP loss per share of $1.43 to $1.42 on revenue of $244 million to $245 million. Analysts estimate a loss of $1.52 per share on revenue of $231.2 million.
