WTI Crude Oil Price Analysis for April 3, 2026

WTI crude oil is pressing against a key horizontal resistance level near the $110.00 per barrel mark, as the commodity continues to climb within a well-defined ascending triangle pattern on the short-term time frame.

The formation is characterized by a flat ceiling around $110.00 and a rising trendline connecting a series of higher lows, suggesting that buying pressure is gradually building beneath the surface.

Price is currently trading just below the resistance ceiling after a sharp rally, with the ascending trendline providing a steady floor throughout the pattern. A decisive breakout above $110.00 could confirm the bullish continuation signal that the ascending triangle implies, potentially opening the door to steeper gains in the sessions ahead.

On the other hand, rejection at this level could send WTI back toward the rising trendline support, which is now converging near the $95.00–$97.00 region.

The 100 SMA is above the 200 SMA to confirm that the path of least resistance is to the upside, and both moving averages are sloping higher in line with the broader bullish structure. Price has been riding above both indicators since bouncing off the ascending trendline in late March, reinforcing these as dynamic support levels on any dips.

Stochastic is approaching the overbought region, suggesting that bullish momentum is strong but beginning to show signs of exhaustion. A turn lower from this area would warn that sellers could push back and drive a corrective move toward trendline support before bulls attempt another run at the ceiling.

RSI, meanwhile, is climbing toward the overbought zone as well, leaving limited room for additional upside without a pause or pullback first.

Traders will be watching closely for either a confirmed breakout candle above $110.00 or reversal signals at resistance, as both scenarios carry significant follow-through potential from current levels. Geopolitical headlines surrounding the US-Iran war could continue to dictate crude oil direction.
