Forex Technical Major Pairs Analysis | October 16, 2026

USDX (USD Index)

U.S. Dollar Index is pulling back since reaching levels near the 103.00 major resistance threshold. This technical retracement has reached the previously broken swing high near the top of the green support zone. If a strong bullish reaction develops around current levels, there is a good chance for an upward continuation toward higher targets. A sustained breakdown below this immediate support area, however, could signal a deeper decline toward lower horizontal levels.

EUR/USD

FBS The Best Forex Broker

EUR/USD bounced off the 1.1120 support floor and is currently retracing toward the 1.1300 – 1.1360 target area. As mentioned before, traders are awaiting fresh price reactions within this overhead zone. If a strong bearish reaction emerges, it will present an opportunity to enter short positions aligned with the broader trend. Conversely, a decisive daily close above this resistance block would undermine the immediate bearish structure.

Today’s critical levels to watch:

Support: 1.1185, 1.1120

Resistance: 1.1300, 1.1360, 1.1500, 1.1580, 1.1710, 1.1820

GBP/USD

GBP/USD gained sharply during recent trading, erasing all losses incurred since the initial dump below the 1.3300 – 1.3330 region. The pair might target the daily SMA 200 next while utilizing the reclaimed 1.3300 – 1.3330 area as a fresh support floor. Continued buying interest above this level reinforces a potential shift toward a bullish outlook. Maintaining this upward momentum will be critical for buyers attempting to secure a higher swing high.

Today’s critical levels to watch:

Support: 1.3330, 1.3300, 1.3250

Resistance: 1.3450, 1.3600

USD/JPY

USD/JPY is slowly moving lower, distancing itself further from the daily SMA 200. However, no new lower swing low has been printed yet to confirm a decisive trend continuation. If the pair manages to break out from the 23.6% – 38.2% Fibonacci retracement channel, price action will likely follow the direction of the breakout. Traders should wait for a firm daily candle close beyond this boundary before committing to new directional setups.

Today’s critical levels to watch:

Support: 155.50, 154.00, 150.00

Resistance: 158.89

AUD/USD

AUD/USD experienced another bounce off its ascending support trendline. The pair continues ranging between this lower trendline boundary and the 0.7000 psychological resistance level for now. Market participants should wait for a clear breakout from this channel before confirming the next directional move. A sustained breach above 0.7000 would open the door for a broader recovery toward daily SMA 200.

Today’s critical levels to watch:

Support: 0.6820, 0.6750, 0.6700, 0.6600

Resistance: 0.7000, 0.7160, 0.7300, 00.7330
