GBPUSD is up 1.3 times despite persistent uncertainty about Brexit

GBPUSD rose in today’s trading despite continuing uncertainty about a UK-EU agreement on Bexit. British currency received support this week of hopes that Prime Minister Theresa May could succeed in an agreement on Brexit with Brussels.

Optimism seems to be dissipating from the markets on the expected deal, especially as the London-Brussels negotiations expire on March 29.

It is expected that next Sunday, “Theresa May” events of the Arab European summit in the city of Sharm el-Sheikh in Egypt, and no news about the possibility of holding meetings with European officials to discuss the exit from the unified bloc.

During today’s trading, GBPUSD  rose by 18:39 GMT by 0.2% to 1.3072, and the British currency recorded the highest price against the US counterpart at 1.308 and the lowest level at 1.2969.

In another hand; USD fell against most major currencies today as markets awaited signals or hints about the outcome of US-China trade negotiations.

A meeting between US President Donald Trump and a delegation led by Vice Premier Wen Jiabao is expected to discuss trade relations between the world’s two largest economies.

This comes as the end of the trade truce between the two countries in early March with the hint of “Trump” the possibility of extension if progress in negotiations with China, as reflected his remarks this week already.

In the annual report to the US Congress, the Federal Reserve confirmed its forecast for a slowdown in US economic growth this year and inflation stability near the target of 2%, which requires patience policy to raise interest rates.
