Interactive Brokers, the electronic trading platform, has recently been pushing out a large number of upgrades to its platform. The latest enhancement comes to its TWS platform, with the beta version of it allowing for advisors to access the Portfolio Builder tool. With this comprehensive new tool, brand new solutions can be developed for ongoing problems.
All-In-One Solution For Advisors
This trader interface, toting itself as an all-in-one solution, allows users to build an investment strategy of a high level of sophistication. The solution backs its findings up by leveraging research and rankings from global fundamentals data, as well as top buy-side providers. Users are capable of backtesting these various strategies through a thorough process, leveraging eight years of historical performance to get accurate results. Users are capable of adjusting this strategy as needed, using the performance metrics as a guideline.
In order to open this new Portfolio Builder option, users can just make use of the Mosaic new Window dropdown. From there, they will quickly locate the Portfolio builder option within the dropdown’s Trade section. An important thing to note that, as it stands now, the opportunity to invest through Portfolio Builder isn’t supported by the advisors themselves.
Advisor Model Marketplace
Advisors do have a new thing to look forward to, however: The Advisor Model Marketplace feature. This adds a searchable database that includes a downloadable version of various investment model compositions. These models are both designed and offered through the use of third-party vendors, giving it without any costs. RIA’s will be capable of using this to provide investment models to their own clients
Once they have subscribed to these new features, users will be capable of browsing an extensive array of available vendor models. They can specify what sort of models they want through a filtering system, sorting by Asset Class, Rebalance Frequency, associated Risk, as well as a few other attributes. When a user finds the model of their liking, they will be capable of importing it to the Model Manager within TWS, in order to give the model to their clients.
Pushing New Features
The latest version of TWS already offers a boatload of other improvements and newly made features. An excellent example of this would be the Risk Navigator Cash Adjustment, which treats position changes like virtual trades, adjusting the cash in a user’s what-if portfolio.
