CMC Markets has released its trading result for the third quarter of 2021. According to the report, the firm saw a record increase in client money and asset under management (AUM).
Additionally, CMC Markets saw a massive growth in monthly active clients, which is similar to the figure recorded in the first half of the fiscal year.
However, the operating income of the firm fell by 45% in the first half of the year. It also saw a 74% drop in pre-tax profits in the year. CMC Markets recorded a 9% drop in the number of leveraged clients in the period while it had a 10% increase in the non-leveraged active clients.
CMC Considers Separating Leveraged And Non-Leveraged Business
CMC Markets has also looked at the prospect of separating its leveraged and non-leveraged businesses as it plans to maximize shareholder value. The company has also set plans for the move, although it’s still in its early stage.
Additionally, CMC Markets has realized sustained performance across both its leveraged and non-leveraged businesses in the third quarter of the year. The trading company has also expressed its desire to continue in its investments in the UK non-leveraged platform.
Chief Executive Officer of CMC Markets Lord Cruddas stated that the latest result shows that the firm is heading in the right direction.
“I am pleased with the ongoing trends we’re seeing in client money, and physical share assets in Australia,” he noted.
CMC Markets To Launch A New UK Investment Platform
CMC Markets is also planning to roll out a new UK investment platform within the first six months of the year. Cruddasalso stated that the goal of the firm has always been to offer more investment and trading options for clients, enabling them the freedom to choose from a wide range of instruments.
He added that the company is making good progress and remains confident that the firm will meet its strategic goals in the market. Additionally, the half-year result has shown the company’s strategic intent, and is looking forwards to more impressive results during the full-year update.
CMC Markets recently lowered its full-year expectations and is looking to reach a net operating income between £250 million and £280 million in the present financial year.
