Leading global CFDs broker Plus500 has announced that it has acquired an operational license in Estonia. The new firm will be operating as an investment firm, according to the announcement.
Plus500 is based in Haifa, Israel. However, the company has operational offices in Tel Aviv, Sofia, Singapore, Limassol, Sydney, and London.
Following the extension of its services to Estonia, the firm now has the ability and authorization to offer various investment services in the country.
The authorization will enable the firm to accept securities orders and execute them in its name or on behalf of clients. The firm can also trade with securities on its account.
Additionally, the company will be able to hold and manage the securities of clients and offer foreign exchange-related services if they are linked to the provision of investment services.
Plus500 Also Appoints Two New Executives
Following the authorization of Estonia’s financial regulator Finantsinspektsioon, Plus500 has also announced the appointment of two senior executives to head the region.
The executives, Kerli Lõhmus and Sigrid Aljas have worked in various capacities in the organization.
Kerli Lõhmus was the Chief Financial Officer at Estonian bank Coop Pank AS since 2017. Before her role there, she worked as the Chief Financial Officer at LHV Group, which is the largest capital provider and financial group in Estonia.
Sigrid Aljas also has many years of experience before her latest appointment. From 2019 to 2021, she worked at Admiral Markets AS. Before her role there, Aljas also worked at Swedbank and Veriff. She also comes with experience in business conduct supervision while working at Finantsinspektsioon.
Plus500 Steps Up Plans To Expand
Sigrid Aljas will work as the Chief Executive Officer of the new Estonian entity. She also spent a great deal of time in the early stage of her illustrious carrier with the Estonian Financial Markets Operator (FSA). Aljas is also a trained lawyer.
Plus500 has been serious about its expansion plans. The company wants to expand both in its number of offerings and the size of its market coverage. It has taken the bold step to step into the Estonian market and hopes to expand its operations further in the region.
