Sam Bankman-Fried (SBF), the founder of the collapsed cryptocurrency exchange FTX, has claimed that the company never went bankrupt. In a recent interview from prison, he said that the liquidity crisis FTX faced did not equate to an insolvency problem. He said that the company had enough assets to repay customers and that market panic prevented withdrawing quickly.

Bankman-Fried Seeks Trump Pardon, Claims Trial Was Unfair
Bankman-Fried’s empire, which saw him once regarded as a rising star in crypto, collapsed as the crypto empire he founded, FTX, and Alameda trading firm he led buckled. Later convicted of fraud and other crimes, he was given a 25-year prison sentence. Soon after, he has appealed, claiming he was unfairly tried.
From the Manhattan Detention Center, SBF stated he was hoping for a pardon from former President Donald Trump. He also took aim at the judge who handed him down the sentence and the prosecutor who obtained his conviction. According to him, his case was politically motivated and is part of bigger problem in prosecutorial misconduct.
In the interviews, he expressed views of the U.S. Department of Justice (DOJ) being biased and politicized. His legal troubles, he suggested, might have stemmed from his political donations, which included contributions to both Democrats and Republicans.
Furthermore, SBF also commented on the recent changes in the tech industry and the crypto regulation. The Biden administration was harsh to the crypto sector, the business claimed, making it impossible for the businesses to operate. Republican lawmakers were more open to innovation and he praised them for that.
Jailed SBF Sees Bright Future for Crypto, Despite His Own Fall
Despite being in prison, the cryptocurrency world is still relevant to Bankman-Fried. Bankman-Fried shows positive sentiments about his situation despite facing criminal accusations. Digital currencies will expand according to his projection. He believes political figures will gradually accept cryptocurrency as he observes Trump’s creation of the Trump Coin.
Bankman-Fried demonstrates firm belief in his innocence while awaiting the decision on his appeal. He continues to state that FTX collapsed due to poor management rather than fraudulent activity.
