Forex Technical Major Pairs Analysis | January 16, 2026

USDX (USD Index)

The U.S. dollar index posted a bullish close in the previous session, with no clear bearish reversal signal visible so far. Price action suggests buyers remain in control and may attempt another push toward the 100.00 resistance level. A daily close back below the SMA 200 would be the first technical signal that bullish momentum is weakening and could open the door for a broader bearish move.

EUR/USD

FBS The Best Forex Broker

EUR/USD has reached the 1.1580 support area and the daily SMA 200, placing the pair at a key decision zone. Price action around this level will determine whether the broader bullish structure can be maintained. A bullish reaction from this zone would favor a rebound toward 1.1710. A clean bearish break below 1.1580 would shift focus to the 1.1500 downside target.

Today’s critical levels to watch:

Support: 1.1580, 1.1500, 1.1360, 1.1300

Resistance: 1.1710, 1.1820

GBP/USD

GBP/USD is trading within yesterday’s range, indicating a lack of follow-through from the recent bullish attempt. There is bullish attempt, but the pair has relinquished most of the gain and currently trading near the opening level. The market is showing hesitation rather than a clear directional move. On the downside, a break lower would expose the 1.3300–1.3330 support area.

Today’s critical levels to watch:

Support: 1.3330, 1.3300, 1.3250

Resistance: 1.3450, 1.3600

USD/JPY

USD/JPY is under near-term bearish pressure and is currently testing the previously broken swing high, which now acts as a key support level. A hold above this area would keep the broader bullish structure intact, while a close below it would confirm deeper corrective pressure. On the lower side, the green box area is the major support area to watch.

Today’s critical levels to watch:

Support: 155.50, 155.00, 153.00, 151.00

Resistance: 158.89, 160.00

AUD/USD

AUD/USD remains range-bound near the 0.6700 level, with neither buyers nor sellers able to establish control. A higher swing high would confirm a bullish continuation attempt, while a lower swing low would signal renewed downside momentum. Although the overall direction is bullish, no change to the situation, it is better to wait at the sideline for now.

Today’s critical levels to watch:

Support: 0.6600, 0.6560, 0.6500

Resistance: 0.6700, 0.6750, 0.6820
