Analog Devices, Inc. (NASDAQ:ADI) beat topline expectations

Analog Devices, Inc. (NASDAQ:ADI) stock rose 1.08% (As on November 22, 11:27:42 AM UTC-4, Source: Google Finance) after the company beat the topline expectations for the fourth quarter of FY 23.  In Industrial Automation, the company is increasingly delivering more complete solutions. At a top digital factory automation supplier, for example, the company recently leveraged the anchor position in software configurable I/O to attach additional solutions value across power, isolation and connectivity. As a result, the company captured 3x the bill of materials and secured design wins across their entire platform.
In Industrial Instrumentation, the company has increased the design wins at SOC and memory test market leaders. The next-generation solutions, increased channel density and throughput while reducing energy consumption by up to an incredible 30% per system

ADI in the fourth quarter of FY 23 has reported the adjusted earnings per share of $2.01, which is inline with the analysts’ estimates for the adjusted earnings per share of $2.01. The company had reported 16 percent fall in the adjusted revenue to $2.72 billion in the fourth quarter of FY 23, beating the analysts’ estimates for revenue of $2.71 billion. This is  led by double-digit year-over-year growth in the automotive sector. The combination of careful expense management and the employees’ commitment to high standards of execution enabled the company to deliver operating margins of 44.7% for the quarter.

Additionally, as of Oct 28, 2023, cash and cash equivalents were $958.1 billion, down from $1.15 billion as of Jul 29, 2023. Long-term debt was $5.9 billion at the end of the fiscal fourth quarter compared with $6.44 billion at the end of the fiscal third quarter. Net cash provided by operations was $1.19 billion in the reported quarter, up from $1.14 billion in the prior fiscal quarter. ADI generated $711 million of free cash flow in the fiscal fourth quarter. Analog Devices returned $898 million to its shareholders in the fiscal fourth quarter, of which dividend payments accounted for $428 million and repurchased shares amounted to $470 million.

For first-quarter fiscal 2024, ADI expects revenues of $2.50 billion (+/- $100 million). The Zacks Consensus Estimate for the same is pegged at $2.70 billion.

Non-GAAP earnings are expected to be $1.70 (+/- $0.10) per share. The consensus mark for the same is pinned at $1.94 per share.

Analog Devices anticipates non-GAAP operating margins of 41.5% (+/- 70 bps).
