Zoetis Inc(NYSE: ZTS) was upgraded by Citi analyst Liav Abraham to Buy with a price target of $85. The analyst sees “more constructive” on the Specialty Pharma group heading into 2018. The analysts’ forecasts ongoing commercial execution across Zoetis’ portfolio and sees potential for continued topline growth in 2018. Recently, even Cantor Fitzgerald issued a $80.00 target price to the group.
Zoetis also reported their first quarter 2018 dividend payable to holders to $0.126 per share, which is a rise of 20% as compared to the quarterly dividend rate paid in 2017. The dividend would to be paid on March 1, 2018, for stockholders with a record on January 19, 2018.
The group launched Vanguard® CIV H3N2/H3N8, for canine influenza virus (CIV) portfolio. This new bivalent vaccine would protect dogs against two strains of the virus known to be circulating in the U.S., CIV H3N2 and CIV H3N8. CIV is a severe and highly contagious respiratory infection that led to several serious disease outbreaks in 38 states across the country. The United States Department of Agriculture (USDA) granted Zoetis a license for this vaccine in June 2017.
Apart from this, the group got European Commission approval for Suvaxyn® PRRS MLV, a new addition to the Suvaxyn/Fostera® family of vaccines for swine. This modified live vaccine enables pigs against porcine respiratory and reproductive syndrome, one of the most common diseases affecting swine herds.

Zoetis extended the breadth and reach of its poultry portfolio with approval from Korea of Poulvac® Maternavac IBD-REO for the revaccination of chickens to help prevent locally prevalent strains of infectious bursal disease and avian reovirus. The company also brought its poultry diagnostics products ProFlok® and FluDetect® into major European markets in July.
They got new approvals for its oral flea and tick medication Simparica during September 2017 in Japan and Taiwan.
As per their third quarter of 2017, they reported a solid operational revenue and adjusted earnings growth of 8% and 25%, respectively. Their companion animal portfolio enhanced 19% driven by leading dermatology products and better adoption of their oral parasiticide, Simparica. Zoetis enhanced their guidance for the full year 2017, while forecasts Revenue to be in the range of $5.225 billion to $5.275 billion.
