Animoca Brands has announced a partnership deal with global venture accelerator Brinc to roll out the Guild accelerator program.
According to the partnership deal, the program will be funding about $500,000 per guild. It will also place projects that focus on sustainability for priority of acceptance. Those that also support and give back to scholar/player communities will also be placed on priority.
The Program Will Foster Innovation
Founder of Brinc, Manay Gupta, stated that Guilds can transform agriculture, skill development, education, and other areas where people are having issues with access to tools and assets. The program can be helpful to enable people to up-skill, innovate, and earn a living, Gupta added.
The Guild Accelerator Program is coming at a period when the play-to-earn (P2E) industry is seeing increased interest. However, Axie Infinity is still the undisputable leader in the industry, with over $2 billion in trading volume in Q3 2021.
Gaming guilds related to cryptocurrency provide the required tools and funding to play blockchain-based games. The guild makes money by taking a cut of the earnings gained from playing the P2E games in return for the provision of the required tools or funds.
The Accelerator Program Will Operate Within Launchpad Luna
According to the announcement, the Guild Accelerator Program will be operating within Launchpad Luna, which was rolled out by Animoca and Brinc in 2021. The first batch will be starting in May, but applications will close by the end of February. The Guild Accelerator Program is supported by several experts and mentors. These include Brendan Wong, founder of Avacado Guild, Howard Xu, co-founder of the Vietnam-based guild Ancient8, and Saruboti Sasuke, head of partnerships at Yield Guild Games.
“As the world enters a new era of work and play, the play-to-earn guilds space has enormous growth potential,” Yat Siu, the Co-Founder and Executive Chairman of Animoca Brands commented.
The company is preparing itself for the future when it comes to the world of metaverse. Animoca Brands is deeply involved in the guilds that will drive the evolution of these new opportunities, Siu added.
