Arista Networks Inc (NYSE:ANET) stock rose 0.87% (As on August 2, 11:42:28 AM UTC-4, Source: Google Finance) after the company posted better than expected results for the second quarter of FY 22. Arista reported net income of $299 million for the period, up from $196.8 million a year earlier.
ANET in the second quarter of FY 22 has reported the adjusted earnings per share of $1.08, beating the analysts’ estimates for the adjusted earnings per share of 91 cents. The company had reported the adjusted revenue growth of 49 percent to $1.052 billion in the second quarter of FY 22, beating the analysts’ estimates for revenue of $976 million.
The company is anticipating third-quarter sales of $1.025 billion to $1.075 billion, ahead of Wall Street’s forecast of $1 billion. The outlook is consistent with the optimistic forecasts of key cloud computing giants including Microsoft, Google and Amazon Web Services Inc., which are all projecting strong demand despite the macroeconomic pressures facing most tech firms today. For the third quarter of 2022, the company expects Non-GAAP gross margin of 60% to 62%; and Non-GAAP operating margin of approximately 39%. The hardware business delivers the majority of Arista’s revenue. The company said it generated sales of $885.8 million in the quarter, with software and services adding $166 million.
Meanwhile, the company announced the next generation of converged ultra low latency, highly programmable 7130 Series systems designed for demanding in-network applications. The new systems improve customer agility while consolidating multiple devices that reduce complexity, power and costs. Arista announces the extension of its Arista EOS (Extensible Operating System) and CloudVision software to support high-performance switched networks for media and entertainment customers. Arista Media Control Service (MCS) makes broadcast workflows an integral function of the Arista network fabric providing customers with faster establishment of audio and video streams. Arista announced the next phase of Arista’s cognitive campus vision with the introduction of Arista CUE (Cognitive Unified Edge). CUE enables commercial and distributed branch customers to accelerate new services and technology innovations by consolidating multiple security and networking functions into an “edge as a service” cloud-managed solution. In addition, Arista acquired Pluribus Networks, a leader in delivering unified cloud fabrics that provides agility, security, automation and visibility across all clouds.
