AUD/USD Fundamentals Overview
From a fundamental perspective, the AUD/USD currency pair is trading at the back of a tumultuous period in the global financial markets. On the other hand, durable goods orders ex-transportation came short of -0.4% with -0.6%. The preliminary Markit Manufacturing PMI for March impressed with 49.2 versus an expectation of 42.8. However, the Services PMI disappointed with 39.1, missing the estimate of 42. Jobless claims also came in heavier than expected with 3.283M claims versus 1M.
In Australia, Commonwealth Bank Services PMI for March missed the expectation of 48.3 with 39.8 while the Bank manufacturing PMI beat 50 with 50.1.
