Of course, beer-brewing businesses are not simply home backyard activities anymore. Many factors influence their survival in the industry. The following are some of them:

Beer brewing businesses

Generational Preferences

Until 2000s, beer-brewing industry had not shown a pleasing growth rate. Instead, they has still existed. However, generational preferences seem to account for its existence, despite very slow growth. According to a survey conducted in 2015, almost half of beer drinkers were millennial. They were college educated people and more than 30% of beer drinkers held graduate degrees.

The survey also found that millennial began to hunt locally harvested and homemade food and beverages. They were fascinated with food produced in its harvesting place. They were even willing to visit the farm to know how the food and beverages were grown and produced.

Neighborhood Meeting Space

Beer brewing businesses in the United States are still focused on older retail system for their growth. With conventional production system, the brew has been produced around the neighborhood, where the people around could interact each other. That is why the businesses frequently used older facilities, such as former automobile retail shops, abandoned buildings, abandoned churches, or abandoned mills.

As a result, breweries have become integral part of neighborhoods. Breweries have become important meeting spots or public gathering place for neighboring people. This benefits the breweries, as the social interaction around the facilities feed the marketing efforts. Some of them do not need modern marketing styles, since the social interactions are enough for them to get loyal customers.

Slow but Consistent Growth

There is still ample room for the beer-brewing businesses to growth across the nation. The industry is still growing, despite slow expansion. However, analysts predicted that it would shake the markets over the next 1 or 2 years. The production rate rose more than 6% last year. The trend does not seem to end soon. Beer is still needed, not only by millennial but also by beer lovers throughout the nation, not only in the metropolitan area but also in the suburban villages.

It is true that competition in beer-brewing industry has been even fiercer during the last several years. However, the beer-brewing businesses have their own segments of loyal customers around the country. Therefore, it is still growing.
