In a move aimed at stopping money laundering and illicit activities, the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MVD) of Belarus is working on a groundbreaking legislative bill. The proposed bill seeks to prevent the exchange of cryptocurrencies between individuals within the country. According to the MVD, the objective behind this legislative innovation is to stop the withdrawal of funds obtained illegally through crypto transactions. By implementing strict regulations on peer-to-peer P2P cryptocurrency transactions, the ministry aims to stop illegal activities associated with the digital currency market. The Ministry of Internal Affairs has published this statement on its official VKontakte social media page. The government emphasized the importance of this step in their continued efforts to maintain law and order within the financial sector.
Belarus Emphasizing High-Tech Park Exchanges for Transparency and Control
To enhance transparency and control in the digital currency market, the MVD is working on introducing a new law that would restrict peer-to-peer transactions for exchanging cryptocurrencies between individuals. In addition, the ministry aims to channel these financial activities through the High-Tech Park (HTP) exchanges to ensure better control.
Citizens will only be allowed to make such transactions through the HTP exchanges, which will provide increased transparency and supervision. By focusing on HTP exchanges the Ministry of Internal Affairs hopes to reduce worries about potential cryptocurrency misuse, including money laundering and illegal financial activity.
