Binance Founder Denies WSJ Claims About Involvement with WLF

Changpeng Zhao, the former CEO and founder of the well-known crypto exchange Binance, has recently expressed a fierce response to the Wall Street Journal. As per the official X post shared on Changpeng Zhao’s official X account, he has categorized a Wall Street Journal article as a “hit piece” full of negative intent and inaccuracies. In a comprehensive post, Zhao has questioned the WSJ for allegedly abandoning its conventional journalistic standards.

CZ asserted that the WSJ is allegedly forsaking the journalistic standards it once followed while favoring “Cunninghum’s Law.” Thus, Zhao believes that the recent WSJ article is filled with negative intent as well as inaccuracies. While discussing this, CZ mentioned that the WSJ interacted with him via the public relations team of Binance.

In this respect, the WSJ presented a thorough series of questions that were mostly wrong and full of negative assumptions. As a result of this, the Binance team informed the platform about the flawed premise thereof. The team also pointed out that the proposed questions had several unfounded inferences and inaccuracies. Specifically, one of Zhao’s claimed wrong inferences deals with his alleged contribution to enabling international links for World Liberty Financial (WLF).

As per WSJ, the former Binance CEO had assisted in introducing the representatives of the WLF to many foreign officials, such as in Pakistan. Additionally, he had reportedly played a crucial role in a deal that was signed with the government of Pakistan. Along with that, the article made some other statements highlighting alleged friendship between Zack Witkoff (the co-founder of WLF) and Zhao.

Zhao Questions WSJ for Abandoning Journalism Standards

Nonetheless, as per Changpeng Zhao, the respective claims of the WSJ articles are false, and he has not been engaged in such activities. Zhao asserted that he does not work as a fixer and was not engaged in any connections or deals as mentioned in the article. While concluding his response, Zhao mentioned that the WSJ has abandoned the journalism standards and is no more conducting objective reporting.
