BitMart cryptocurrency exchange is exploring a potential restructuring plan. The plan will likely enable BitMart to gradually resume certain operations. The exchange had announced shutdown last month due to non-proftable business. Now the exchange is looking for alternative to the full wind-down process. In its official update on X, BitMart said it is evaluating the restructuring option following discussions with its community and advisers.

The potential plan may involve the phased resumption of selected operations alongside distributions to creditors. However, BitMart emphasized that any restructuring plan remains subject to further legal, financial, operational, and regulatory assessments.
BitMart Appoints White & Case as Restructuring Counsel
To support the restructuring process, BitMart has appointed White & Case as its restructuring counsel. The law firm will work alongside BitMart’s other advisers to assess all available options. After this, they will develop a potential framework for gradually restoring certain services. BitMart said a roadmap for the restructuring is currently being developed. The exchange expects to provide another update no later than September 9, 2026.
BitMart Previously Announced Full Wind-Down
The restructuring discussions come several weeks after BitMart announced to cease its operations on July 26. Under the original wind-down plan, BitMart suspended new user registrations and deposits with immediate effect on July 26. The exchange also placed futures accounts into reduce-only mode and scheduled the complete discontinuation of spot, futures, and other trading services for August 26, 2026.
BitMart had previously set January 31, 2027, as the date for the complete shutdown of the platform. However, the newly announced restructuring initiative could represent a shift from the original wind-down strategy. However, BitMart stressed that the potential resumption of operations is still under review and has not been finalized.
The exchange said it will continue providing updates as the restructuring process develops and intends to consult its community if a business resumption plan is eventually launched. BitMart also advised users to monitor its official communication channels and remain alert to potential scams.
