The respective online communication between the two contains a collection of fundamental historical information regarding BTC’s early days. The email exchanges span between May 2009 and February 2011. The emails provide a wider overview of the Bitcoin creator than before. Nakamoto sometimes appears naïve and sometimes prescient, predicting that the project might ultimately face environmental issues.

According to the Bitcoin creator, the chief cause behind this problem would be the energy-consuming proof-of-work validation apparatus. In his email of 3rd May 2009, he doesn’t appear to grasp the scaling challenges of Bitcoin. Initially, Malmi was reluctant to reveal the correspondence. Nonetheless, a crucial trial that took place in the United Kingdom in a case against Craig Wright compelled him.

Craig Wright claimed that he was Satoshi Nakamoto. So, a group of developers and crypto exchanges filed a suit against him. Malmi appeared as a witness during that trial. The court finally declared that Wright did not author the BTC white paper or operated as Satoshi Nakamoto pseudonymously. Judge James Mellor also declared that he did not create the Bitcoin system or its earliest versions.

Satoshi Nakamoto’s Identity Still Remains a Mystery

It is not an easy task to confirm the identity of Satoshi Nakamoto based on these emails. However, they may contain some slight hints and clues. In general, Satoshi’s identity may never come to the front. Since the start of Bitcoin, the anonymity of its founder has been subject to several speculations.

Back in the year 2011, a cryptographer talked about the decentralized nature of Bitcoin. As per him, anybody can easily conduct a review of the code. He asserted that, on doing this, one can realize that no single entity controls the Bitcoin network. This increases trust in his system
